Hey everyone...well since I have been noticing a blogging trend, us Derbys decided to jump on the bandwagon. Well for our first post let's just start with our own little love story. Just what you wanted to hear right?!
Our story begins May 22, 2010 at Northtowne Apartments in Reno. I was helping one of my friends move into his apartment and David was helping one of his friends move out her apartment. I either looked cute or just extremely desperate for help because moments later David came to my rescue and helped us finish the move in. After having a great conversation with each other we decided to go to dinner and later a movie. We did not want the night to end. Numbers were exchanged and we have been together ever since!
Fast forward to November 2010. After dating for 6 months David and I made the decision to move into an apartment together. We found a 2 bedroom apartment and we stayed in separate rooms because at the time we were not married. We still live in our cute little apartment and love it...despite the fact we don't have air conditioning!
December 12, 2010 came along and David decided it was time to ask me to be his wife. We had gone to the movies that night and watched Tangled. Very very cute movie by the way! Anywho, after the movie we decided to get some sweets at the Dollar Store and head home. As we pulled into our parking lot David told me not to open the door because he wanted to. After opening the door he told me to get his lunch box from the backseat. When I turned back around he was on one knee with a beautiful 1/2 karat princess cut ring! I of course said yes about a million times.
In February David made the major decision to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The day he was baptized has got to be one of the greatest moments in our lives. We knew from that moment on that we were truly going to be connected forever.
After having a long discussion that we were going to be engaged for about 2 years, we threw that whole discussion out the window and got married on March 12, 2011. Bishop Fisher performed the ceremony and in one year we will have the opportunity to be sealed together forever in the Reno Temple.
Today we enjoy a simple life and look forward to our future! Well there is our whole sappy story whether you wanted to hear it or not! I look forward to updating this from time to time!
